All Saints Church of England Primary School is a one-form-entry Church of England School and Nursery on the outskirts of Bexhill, East Sussex, right in the heart of Sidley. We are seeking an ambitious, highly driven and compassionate Deputy Headteacher who will take on the responsibilities of Inclusion Lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). This position will be for a September 2026 start.

The school also has a 15 place Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) facility supporting children with Autism and associated needs which you will have line management of. You will be a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, working with the Headteacher and other senior leaders to develop and deliver the school’s vision. You will not have a regular teaching commitment to allow focus on these challenging roles.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a leader who is committed to shaping the future of our school, developing their leadership skills within a supportive and collaborative environment, and making a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable pupils. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to grow, while contributing meaningfully to our school’s strategic direction, inclusive culture, and safeguarding excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management.
  • Support the Headteacher in strategic planning and school improvement.
  • Provide leadership across curriculum development, teaching quality, and staff professional development.
  • Step in for the Headteacher when required and act as a highly visible, accessible Deputy Headteacher.
  • Inclusion Lead.
  • Oversee the inclusion strategy and provision for pupils with SEND, ensuring every child has access to a broad, balanced curriculum.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the 15 place Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision, working closely with the facility lead, school staff, the local authority and external agencies.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on outcomes for vulnerable pupils.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and diversity across the whole school community.
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  • Take overall responsibility for safeguarding, child protection, and wellbeing across the school.
  • Lead and coordinate the inclusion team, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support for all staff in safeguarding best practice.
  • Liaise with external agencies, parents, and carers when needed.
  • Pastoral and Ethos.
  • Embed and promote the school’s Christian values in every aspect of school life.
  • Champion pupil voice, ensuring children feel heard, safe, and valued.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents, carers, and the community.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has Qualified Teacher Status alongside demonstrably successful teaching and leadership experience.
  • Has a passion for leading SEND provision within the school.
  • Holds the National Professional Qualification for SEND Co-ordinator (or equivalent) or has a strong desire to complete this course imminently.
  • Is a trained DSL and has held the role of DSL or Deputy DSL previously.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Is highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complex safeguarding situations.
  • Has a commitment to Christian values and a desire to contribute to the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural life of the school.
  • Is committed to professional development - for themselves and for staff.
What we can offer:
  • A supportive, close‑knit school community where you can make a real difference.
  • A collaborative and dedicated staff team aligned with Christian values.
  • Opportunities for leadership growth and continued professional development.
  • The unique chance to lead on inclusion and safeguarding in a school, nursery and SEND facility committed to ensuring every child is safe, valued, and supported.
