Job summary

A community-focused youth organization is seeking a Youth Worker in Glengormley to deliver and manage various youth work programmes. Successful candidates will receive full training and must possess excellent communication skills and a willingness to engage with young people. A driving license and access to transportation are also required. This temporary position offers flexible working hours with a pay rate ranging from £7.55 to £12.21 per hour depending on age and experience.

Qualifications

Excellent presentation/verbal communication skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

Education

Level 2 in Youth Work

Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: THE BYTES PROJECT ANTRIM AND NEWTOWNABBEY.Enabling Bytes to successfully deliver projects that promote the personal, educational, creative, and social development of young people, using creative ICT, assisting them to reach their full potential. This will be in line with the NI Youth Work Curriculum.A full current driving licence and access to a form of transport that will enable the postholder to meet the travel requirements of the Job. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.All successful applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced Check with Access NI.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Commitment to the aims and values of Bytes, including the principles that drive the values and behaviours of staff in Bytes.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a form of transport that will enable the postholder to meet the travel requirements of the Job.
  • Level 2 in Youth Work, or able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years' experience working with disengaged young people.
  • Experience of design and delivery of youth work projects across a range of settings.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of NI Youth Work Curriculum and Department of Education Child Protection regulations.
  • Working knowledge of information technology systems to include the following Microsoft Office packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
