You are invited to apply for a Youth Worker – Alternative Provision (SEMH) role based in Colchester. This full‑time position works on both an outreach and school‑based basis, starting in January. The role supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those who display challenging behaviour. Previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs is essential, and experience supporting pupils who present challenging behaviour or who may be difficult to engage is highly desirable.

Support students with SEMH needs in both an outreach and school‑based setting, including those who display challenging behaviour. Work with a structured support programme to help students achieve their full potential and work in a positive team environment.

  • Previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs (essential)
  • Experience supporting pupils who present challenging behaviour or who may be difficult to engage (highly desirable)
  • Resilient, patient and passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives
  • Must be suitably qualified for the role and be prepared to attend a face‑to‑face interview
