JOB TITLE: Youth Development Worker

LOCATION: Plymouth

SALARY: £14.82/hr

DURATION: 4 months initially

PLEASE NOTE: due to the urgency of this role, it is essential that anyone put forward for this role has a full, current Enhanced DBS or is of the Update Service.

Role

• Supporting young people (16‑25 years) in a Key Worker role.
• Providing and updating action plans and risk assessments.
• Actively offering young people in supported accommodation encouragement to achieve their dreams.
• Being part of an on‑site team supporting young residents with their living needs.
• Ensuring young people are supported in developing life skills to be able to move into the community.
• Leading and supporting group activities as part of our learning program, forming a sense of community and engagement.

Candidate Requirements

• Driven to find solutions in supporting young people with a range of backgrounds.
• Understanding of young people’s needs and interests, allowing appropriate action plans to be made.
• Passion for providing immediate care and support for young people with safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues.
• Resilient and flexible nature when dealing with others.
• Ability to work under pressure while producing support plans and meeting deadlines.
• Happy to work alone or in a team environment.
• Positive, creative approach with a can‑do attitude while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Valid driving licence.

Summary

This Youth Development Worker role is being offered on a full‑time temporary basis. Working hours are up to 37 per week, with hour patterns between 8 am and 10 pm. An enhanced DBS for adults and children must already be held by the successful candidate.
