Overview

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a Young Person\'s Coach, on a 5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client\'s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay

£19.71 - £26.00 per hour

Summary

The Young Persons Coach will play a key role in the Complex Lives Project, an innovative initiative designed to reshape support for young people at risk of, or subject to, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs). The role focuses on delivering dedicated, intensive, and flexible support to a small caseload of young people with highly complex needs. By building trusted relationships, the Coach will empower young people to have a stronger voice in their care planning, engage with assessment tools, and co-produce interventions that improve long-term outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Support young people to engage with the CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths) tool, ensuring their views shape care planning and outcomes.
  • Lead or coordinate CANS assessments and liaise with professionals across education, health, youth justice, and social care.
  • Contribute to developing innovative practice approaches for supporting young people with complex needs.
Essentials
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection procedures, and statutory frameworks for children and young people.
  • Relevant qualifications in youth work, social care, psychology, education, or health.
  • Experience in risk assessment and safeguarding practice.

  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS.
