Responsibilities
  • Set challenging teaching and learning objectives which are relevant to all students in your classes
  • Select and prepare a range of resources that take into account all students’ learning needs, languages and cultural backgrounds
  • Make effective use of assessment, monitoring and recording strategies to assess learning needs and plan for future teaching
  • Mark and monitor students’ class work and homework/independent learning within agreed deadlines to provide constructive feedback and opportunities for reflection on attainment and progress
  • Have a good knowledge of the assessment requirements for public examinations and qualifications in your curriculum
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience in delivering outstanding teaching and learning
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to the academy’s values and ethos
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent
  • Degree or equivalent qualification

  • Experience of supporting the social, emotional and educational development of students
  • Proven record of outstanding classroom practice
  • Ability to teach ‘good or outstanding’ lessons
  • Ability to encourage students in developing self-esteem and respect for others
  • Effective use of assessment data to inform appropriate teaching and learning and raise standards
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to use technology to support student learning
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, parents and students
