Salary: £130–£210 per day (paid weekly via PAYE)

We’re looking for a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a friendly Wakefield primary school. If you’re passionate about early learning and love helping children take those big first steps into Key Stage 1, this could be the perfect role for you.
Teach and inspire a Year 1 class, delivering creative and engaging lessons
Support pupils as they transition from EYFS to KS1, building their confidence and independence
Create a warm, structured environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn
Work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and colleagues to give every child the best possible start
Assess progress, celebrate success, and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching in KS1 (Year 1 preferred)
Strong classroom management and a nurturing approach
Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to inspire young learners
A commitment to inclusive, child-centred education
