Yard Operations Specialist – Forklift Driver

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Yard Operations Specialist to join our operations team in Oldbury. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with forklift experience and a strong understanding of production and distribution processes, particularly involving hazardous or flammable materials.

You’ll be responsible for a range of yard and warehouse duties including filling, loading, stock control, and supporting production paperwork. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to a business that values quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out day-to-day yard operations including tanker unloading, blending, and vehicle loading.
  • Ensure product quality and packaging standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate production and delivery paperwork.
  • Support stock tracking and month-end checks.
  • Keep outdoor work areas clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Report equipment faults and assist with basic troubleshooting.
  • Support audits and compliance with BSI, SALSA, BRC, and HSE standards.
  • Be flexible to support operations at both Langley and Rugby sites if required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: GCSEs in Maths & English (or equivalent).
  • Qualifications: Valid Forklift Licence, Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH).
  • Experience: Handling hazardous materials, ideally flammable substances, in a production or distribution setting.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • ATEX/DSEAR Regulations training.
  • WSTA Level 1 or equivalent.
  • Experience with IT-based picking and stock control systems.
  • Equipment troubleshooting knowledge.
