Workshop Manager

Location: Garswood Bridge House

Work pattern - On Site

We are a leading temporary works specialist and at the forefront of our industry for over 60 years with a reputation built on engineering and service excellence. This enables us to deliver the right temporary works solution for our customers whatever the scale or complexity of the project. Our customers include civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners and consulting engineering firms through to small builders.

We are currently looking for a Workshop Manager based from Garswood to help support the growth and development of the team. You must have experience in working with welding.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, develop and appraise monitoring technicians to achieve a high performing team.
  • Ensure that all equipment is built, maintained, serviced and calibrated to a satisfactory standard while maintaining traceability of all records. Increase internal calibration capability driving cost savings.
  • Manage tools & equipment (both in laboratory & on site) including specifically equipment for calibration purpose.
  • Manage transport activities within the depot to ensure the most efficient and cost effective use of company vehicles and / or external hauliers.
  • Monitor loading and stacking against picking lists and other authorised documentation ensuring accuracy of delivery of stock.
  • Liaise with structural and environment engineers on stock levels and project delivery including managing bespoke builds.
  • Plan & control the team workload (monitoring technicians) in accordance with company or external clients projects.
  • Comply with SHEQ requirements to ensure loading unloading and moving stock is carried out in a safe and secure environment.
  • Follow standard procedures for stock control and security of depot to ensure it remains operational.
What you need
  • HNC / HND Engineering Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Software
  • People management experience; Managed workshop / Calibration / lab / workshop management experience
  • Good organisational skills, project driven, high standard of quality
  • Appetite for leading change and continuous development
