Who you are
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to cybersecurity, with a practical understanding of how security supports business operations.
  • Solid grasp of core security concepts, including malware, phishing, vulnerabilities, and access control, with the ability to apply them in real‑world scenarios.

  • Inquisitive and adaptable, following established processes while exercising sound judgment on when to elevate or take initiative.
What you’ll be doing
  • Monitor systems, networks, endpoints, and logs for unusual or unauthorised activity, using SIEM, endpoint protection, and other security monitoring tools to maintain continuous visibility of the security environment.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for security alerts, triaging, investigating, and assessing vulnerabilities and indicators of compromise, distinguishing between false positives and genuine threats.
  • Respond to cybersecurity incidents, performing initial containment and remediation steps where appropriate, and escalating complex incidents to senior IT staff or third‑party security providers as required.
  • Support vulnerability management activities, including tracking newly disclosed vulnerabilities (e.g., CVEs), coordinating remediation with system owners, and maintaining visibility of outstanding risks.
  • Assist with security governance and compliance, supporting access control reviews, endpoint protection checks, and contribution to policies, standards, and frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST.
  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery activities, including testing incident response plans, defining recovery objectives for critical systems, and ensuring alignment with operational priorities.
  • Help deliver security awareness initiatives, providing guidance on safe system usage, phishing prevention, and risk mitigation to staff across the organisation.
  • Contribute to security and risk assessments for new tools, platforms, or third‑party suppliers, supporting the implementation of secure configurations and mitigation of potential risks.

  • Medicash health support plan.
  • Workplace pension contributions.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Electric Vehicle scheme via Octopus Energy.
  • Cycle to Work programme.
  • Season ticket travel loan.
  • Plus further workplace benefits.
