Workforce Planning and Transformation Manager

Are you ready to make a real impact on the future of NHS workforce planning and transformation? NSFT is seeking an Workforce Planning and Transformation Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a pivotal opportunity to lead strategic workforce planning, drive transformation, and ensure our organisation has the right people, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time

As our Workforce Planning and Transformation Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic workforce plans, collaborating with People and Culture, Education, Finance, and Operational colleagues.
  • Provide expert advice on workforce planning and transformation, supporting recruitment, retention, and resource challenges.
  • Oversee workforce modelling, scenario planning, and data analysis to anticipate future workforce needs.
  • Design and support new workforce models, facilitate service redesign, and collaborate with education providers.
  • Deliver high-quality workforce information and analysis to inform strategic and tactical business planning.
  • Support system-wide workforce transformation in line with national policy, regional ICs objectives, and local Trust priorities.
  • Act as a role model for compassionate and person-centred leadership, deputising for the Director of People as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Educated to Master's level or equivalent experience in HR, Business, workforce planning, or healthcare management.
  • CIPD qualified and member of CIPD.
  • Significant operational people experience, with a track record of leading workforce elements of key organisational change programmes.
  • Experience in workforce planning, analytics, or transformation in a healthcare or public sector setting.
  • Strong analytical, consultancy, and stakeholder management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of NHS workforce policy, planning frameworks, and supply pipelines.
  • Ability to work autonomously, solve complex problems, and influence at a senior level.

Qualifications
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience in HR, Business, workforce planning or health care management
  • CIPD Qualified and member of CIPD
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2), or workforce planning training.
Experience
  • Significant operational people experience with experience of developing the workforce aspects of operational business plans
  • Evidence of leading the workforce elements of key organisational change programmes and devising People solutions which ensure consistency
  • Experience in workforce planning, analytics, or transformation in a healthcare or public sector setting.
  • Demonstrable experience of proactively identifying workforce issues and implementing effective plans to address these
  • Experience of working in partnership with Trade Unions towards shared goals with evidence of achieving organisational outcomes.
