Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or several years of experience in relevant roles.
  • Proven experience as a WordPress and PHP developer.
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies: CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, jQuery.
  • Expertise in PHP and LAMP stack.
  • Solid experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for both back-end and front-end development.
  • Implement WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align website design and business goals.
  • Manage the website back-end including database and server integration.

We’re expanding our Development Team and are seeking a skilled WordPress developer to design, implement, and maintain websites — with additional expertise in digital analytics tools like Google Analytics and Tag Manager.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including the implementation of WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integration, performance optimisation, and security updates.
  • You’ll also help us gain deeper insight into site performance and customer behaviour through analytics platforms and tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align website design, function, and business goals
  • Design and build new features and improvements, front to back
  • Create and maintain website architecture
  • Manage the website back-end, including database and server integration
  • Conduct performance tests and generate actionable reports
  • Set up and maintain event tracking in Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics
  • Monitor and improve SEO / SEM performance (in collaboration with marketing)
  • Troubleshoot site and content issues
  • Track live website performance and resolve ranking-affecting issues using tools such as Google Search Console, Semrush, etc.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field, or several years of experience in relevant roles.
  • Proven experience as a WordPress and PHP developer
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies: CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, jQuery
  • Expertise in PHP and LAMP stack
  • Solid experience with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and tracking pixel implementations
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices
  • Experience with Git and version control (ideally in Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with debugging tools (e.g., Chrome Inspector, Firebug)
  • Ability to manage and prioritise projects independently
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with Google Ads and PPC campaign data integration
  • Experience in the Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Exposure to Power Automate and Azure services
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React.js or Node.js
  • CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation) understanding or experience
Job Type & Location

Job type: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Location: Based in Bournemouth. On-site working required during the six-month probation period, with hybrid options available after.
