Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Wills, Tax & Trusts Lawyer to provide comprehensive legal services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning, tax law, and trust administration, with 3 to 15 years of relevant work experience. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and the chance to work with a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and execute wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents tailored to clients' specific needs and circumstances
  • Provide expert advice on complex tax matters related to estate planning, wealth transfer, and trust administration
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize estate, gift, and income tax liabilities for clients
  • Assist clients with probate proceedings and estate administration
  • Manage trust accounts and oversee the administration of trusts
  • Conduct thorough research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents to ensure compliance and identify optimal solutions for clients
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to provide comprehensive estate planning services
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, estate planning techniques, and relevant legal developments
  • Represent clients in tax disputes and negotiations with tax authorities
  • Prepare and file necessary tax returns and other required documentation
  • Provide guidance on charitable giving strategies and philanthropic planning
  • Assist with business succession planning for family-owned businesses and closely held corporations
  • Conduct client meetings to gather information, explain legal concepts, and present recommendations
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and service
  • Contribute to the firm's knowledge base by creating and updating legal templates, guides, and resources
  • Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals in the practice area
  • Participate in business development activities and networking events to attract new clients
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar association
  • 3 to 15 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on wills, trusts, and estates
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, estate planning techniques, and trust administration
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships
Work Hours

Core Hours are: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm = 35 hours per week

  • 24 days holiday (for Legal Assistants) or 27 days for Fee Earners/Lawyers, plus bank holidays and gifted shutdown between Christmas and New Year. For 2025, we close at 5pm on Tuesday 23rd December and return to office on Monday 5th January
