Qualifications

  • Experience in a welfare support role is essential.
  • Must be adaptable and sensitive to various cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Service Users within the Initial Accommodation estate.
  • Provide guidance and signposting to essential services.
  • Conduct regular visits and report any incidents or concerns.
  • Ensure timely Move on of Service Users.
  • Maintain health and safety standards for Service Users.
  • Conduct monthly property inspections and arrange repairs.
  • Perform regular welfare checks on Service Users.
  • Manage a property portfolio and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Conduct monthly inspections and report defects.
  • Recommend relocations to optimise portfolio management.

Job Title: Welfare Officer

Location: Wethersfield

Salary: £28,000-£35,000

Hours: 48 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights. Day shift 7am-7pm and night shift 7pm-7am

Contract Type: Permanent

Purpose Of The Role

The Welfare Officer at Wethersfield provides direct advice and safeguarding support to Service Users onsite.

Wethersfield's primary function is to offer temporary, safe accommodation for Service Users.

Managing an assigned caseload, the Welfare Officer conducts room inspections, maintains accurate records, updates systems, and ensures compliance with company procedures at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of Service Users within the Initial Accommodation estate.
  • Provide guidance and signposting to essential services, including doctors, shops, and support agencies.
  • Conduct regular visits, report incidents, absconders, and any Service User concerns.
  • Ensure timely Move on of Service Users before the final payment date.
  • Arrange initial transport for Service Users to accommodation or relocation as needed.
  • Maintain health and safety standards for Service Users at all times.
  • Perform regular welfare checks on Service Users and accommodation sites.
  • Manage a property portfolio, ensuring proper maintenance of Initial Accommodation properties and hotels.
  • Conduct monthly inspections, report defects, and arrange repairs/replacements in line with inventory procedures.
  • Recommend relocations or property terminations to optimise portfolio and void management.
