Qualifications

  • Proven experience in vehicle assembly/building, ideally HGV or special-purpose vehicles.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics.
  • Competent in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Basic fabrication and Health & Safety awareness.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client are specialists in the design and manufacture of aircraft refuelling vehicles and aviation fuelling equipment for both JET A1 and Avgas. Their range includes refuellers, hydrant dispensers, bowsers, hydrant servicers, and other bespoke fuelling systems supplied to airports and aviation operators worldwide.

The company takes pride in delivering high‑quality, reliable, and innovative engineering solutions to support global aviation operations.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in building and assembling mechanical components for custom‑built aircraft refuelling vehicles.
This is a hands‑on position within a skilled engineering team, where you'll work on high‑spec projects from start to finish.

Full training is provided, ensuring you're fully supported to learn the company's specialist systems, processes, and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit mechanical components on bespoke refuelling vehicles and equipment
  • Work from engineering drawings and schematics to complete builds accurately
  • Use a wide range of hand and power tools (drills, grinders, riveters, etc.)
  • Carry out basic fabrication tasks and support general workshop duties
  • Ensure all work meets company quality and Health & Safety standards
  • Collaborate with other engineers and departments to achieve production targets
Requirements
  • Proven experience in vehicle assembly/building (ideally HGV or special‑purpose vehicles)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics
  • Competent in the use of hand and power tools
  • Basic fabrication and Health & Safety awareness
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems
  • Background in aircraft refuelling vehicle assembly (advantageous but not essential)
