Job Role

We are looking for a Web Development Officer in the Digital Services Systems team. In this role you will transform the digital experience for Coventry City Council’s customers, staff and residents by planning, developing and delivering web solutions that improve online interactions. The role is part of an agile environment, using low‑code platforms and .NET, SQL, Azure development to build and integrate web services.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver web development projects from planning through implementation, meeting time, budget and quality targets.
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure web solutions comply with accessibility and security standards.
  • Integrate the Council’s website with other technical systems such as Customer Relationship Management and mapping systems.
  • Implement testing, maintenance, release management and hand‑over processes to operational teams.
  • Keep up to date with the latest government digital initiatives and best practices, feeding these into the Council’s digital strategies.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not offered for this role.
  • Experience with low‑code platforms (Granicus govService/Firmstep, Microsoft 365) and .NET, SQL, Azure is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong motivation to work independently and prioritise development projects within multi‑disciplined teams.
  • Ability to lead development projects, attend stakeholder meetings, investigate improvement opportunities and learn new technologies.
