We are looking for Water Quality Officer who would like to help us reach our mission to earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service.

Purpose of this role

To assist the Senior Water Scientists in meeting regulatory obligations.

Your key responsibilities are

To maintain appropriate records and systems, risk assessments and documentation, data management and reporting systems.

Contribute to regulatory drinking water safety plan returns (annual progress and event reports).

Monitor, track, and report water quality data and assist investigations into atypical water quality parameter data.

Monitor sampling programmes and record sampling shortfalls as part of regulatory reporting.

Participate in annual audit / inspection programme.

Monitor, record, and assist with water quality customer communication.

Support the delivery of regulatory reporting to strict deadlines.

Assist with Water Resources where required.

To assess sampling paperwork and liaise with third parties regarding initial water connections onto incumbent networks.

To risk assess water quality events and escalates when required.

To carry out contaminated land assessments.

Raise invoices and purchase orders.

Support event teams when required.

Any other duties as required by the Senior Water Scientists.

Qualifications

Degree level in appropriate technical discipline or relevant experience.

Experience / Knowledge

An understanding of the current legislation, regulatory and operational requirements surrounding water quality.

Abilities / Skills

Highly organised and motivated.

Exceptional record keeping skills are essential to ensure audit trails are maintained.

Excellent communication and report writing skills.

Be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Technically competent in Microsoft Excel.

Able to maintain a helpful and customer focussed work environment.

Able to provide accurate quality work within department and company.

Strong knowledge of the full Microsoft suite of software.

Conditions of Employment

You are required to have your criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This is due to going into customers homes.

You will be required to participate in a standby rota.
