Qualifications

  • Experience working hands-on as a Water Hygiene Engineer / Plumber.
  • Experience with water softener and reverse osmosis units is beneficial.
  • Ability to update onsite logbooks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct water sampling.
  • Monitor temperature.
  • Perform CWST cleans and disinfections.
  • Analyze closed systems.
  • Remove deadlegs.
  • Test, service, install, and replace TMV.
  • Perform failsafe servicing.
  • Calorifier pasteurisation.
  • Carry out replacement and removal of pipework.
  • Conduct closed system analytical testing.
  • Flush little used outlets.
  • Replace outlets.
  • Descale and disinfect showerheads.
  • Maintain, service, and replace RPZ valves.
  • Remediate water tanks.
  • Fill out onsite logbooks.

Job Title: Water Hygiene / Remedial Engineer

Location: Sunderland, Tyne and Wear.

Salary / Benefits: £24k – £35k + Training + Benefits.

We specialise in recruitment within the Water Hygiene / Legionella industry, and we are working closely with a leading player within the industry who are now seeking to take on a Water Hygiene / Remedial Engineer to cover contracts across the North East. They are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and is confident in carrying out a wide range of L8 management services across Commercial, Leisure, Hospitality and Manufacturing sites. Experience working on water softener and reverse osmosis units would be beneficial to the role but not essential. Our client can offer further training and progression, opportunities for overtime, excellent holiday allowance, and company pension scheme. The successful candidate must be happy to travel in line with client / company requirements. Consideration will be given to candidates from: South Shields, Tynemouth, Gateshead, Consett, Durham, Peterlee, Hartlepool, Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Barnard Castle, Hexham, Morpeth, Ashington, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Will hold the City and Guilds / NVQ L2/L3 in plumbing.
  • Experience working hands on as a Water Hygiene Engineer / Plumber for a renowned company is essential to the role.
  • Experience working on water softener and reverse osmosis units would be beneficial to the role but not essential.
  • Extensive experience working in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.
  • Familiar with updating onsite logbooks.
  • Will be polite and professional with clients / colleagues.
  • Ability to manage work load and prioritise accordingly.

  • Flushing of little used outlets.
  • Replacing outlets.
  • Showerhead descale and disinfection.
  • RPZ valve maintenance, servicing, and replacement.
  • Water tank remediation.
  • Ensuring work is carried out in line with HSG 274 & ACoP L8 guidelines.
  • Filling out onsite logbooks upon completion of work.
