A family-run Water Hygiene company based in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer / Plumber. The successful candidate will focus on L8 monitoring and remedial plumbing duties. Qualifications

  • Proven track record working as an engineer for an established Water Hygiene / Water Treatment company.
  • Extensive experience working in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Water sampling.
  • Temperature monitoring.
  • Deadleg removals.
  • Rerouting and replacement of pipework.
  • Site visits carrying out checks on plumbing work.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.

Overview

We are a family‑run Water Hygiene / Water Treatment company seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer / Plumber to join our team in the South Wales region. The role focuses on L8 monitoring and remedial plumbing duties across Commercial, Domestic and Residential sites, maintaining our reputation for high‑standard work. Opportunities for training, progression, generous holiday allowance and a company pension scheme are available.

Responsibilities
  • Water sampling
  • Temperature monitoring
  • Deadleg removals
  • Rerouting, removal and replacement of pipework (PVC / Copper)
  • Site visits carrying out checks on plumbing work and signing off upon completion
  • TMV servicing and failsafes
  • Flushing of little‑used outlets
  • Cleanse and disinfection of CWSTs
  • Showerhead cleans and descales
  • Update onsite logbooks upon completion of work
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines
Qualifications
  • Proven track record working as an engineer for an established Water Hygiene / Water Treatment company
  • Must hold the City and Guilds / NVQ L2 or higher in Plumbing
  • Extensive experience working in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to organise workload in line with company and client needs
  • Good IT skills
