Warehouse Team Leader

Location: Coventry

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum DOE

Employment Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Empowered Personnel is currently recruiting a Warehouse Team Leader to join a busy and well established company in Coventry. This is a hands on leadership role, reporting directly to the Directors, with responsibility for coaching, motivating, and coordinating the warehouse team.

The Role

• Carry out all duties of a Warehouse Team Leader, maintaining effective communication with the warehouse team to ensure tasks are delivered efficiently.
• Coach and guide the team to adhere to all Health & Safety processes, challenging non-compliance when necessary.
• Coordinate colleagues to utilise individual strengths for smooth operations as a Warehouse Team Leader.
• Create and maintain a positive team culture within the warehouse.
• Motivate and inspire colleagues to perform to the best of their ability.
• Drive operational improvements to enhance productivity and business efficiency.
• Ensure all Health & Safety checks are completed on schedule.
• Liaise with the purchasing team to co-ordinate incoming deliveries.
• Assist with stock takes to ensure accuracy of product quantities.
• Act as the point of contact for warehouse operatives, addressing any issues promptly.
• Check dispatch orders for accuracy by completing second checks.
• Group deliveries efficiently to reduce costs and liaise with customers to schedule suitable delivery times.
• Arrange and manage the company van schedule, resolving driver issues as required.
• Work closely with the Sales team to ensure smooth delivery operations.
• Support warehouse picking operations when needed and ensure picking lists are prepared for all orders.
• Maximise van capacity for all journeys.

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Team Leader.
• Strong communication, coaching, and coordination skills as a Warehouse Team Leader.
• Excellent product knowledge relevant to the business.
• Well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Skilled in delegation to empower colleagues and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Understands the business direction and can provide vision and guidance to the team.
• A strong, respectful leader who can motivate and inspire the team to deliver their best.
