Job Title: Warehouse Team Leader
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 DOE
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Hours: Rotating shifts (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm, Monday-Friday)
Role Overview
The Warehouse Team Leader oversees day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring efficient goods-in processes, material flow, storage, and dispatch. The role involves leading a team of operatives, promoting a safe and high-quality working environment, and supporting continual improvement across the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support warehouse operatives in daily activities (picking, loading, recycling, dispatch).
- Manage material movement to/from production and ensure accurate packaging, labelling, and documentation.
- Allocate work across the team, including drivers, to meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and support inventory accuracy through counts and checks.
- Train, coach, and develop team members.
- Liaise with production, customer service, and other departments to maintain smooth workflow.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and report equipment, quality, or safety concerns.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a warehouse environment and in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse systems, stock control, and material handling.
- Confident leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Forklift licence (Counterbalance or Reach) preferred.
- Knowledge of H&S and manual handling regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible approach to shift working and occasional weekend support if.
