Job Description: Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, the Warehouse Shift Manager will manage teams within the Warehouse and motivate employees, ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety within the Warehouse are maintained and product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard in order to meet set KPIs.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 19:00–07:00.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate the shift team in order to ensure that productivity and service KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
  • Lead a team of Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives in their daily workload.
  • Ensure that orders are picked, marshalled, unloaded and loaded in line with Customer specifications.
  • Uphold the highest possible levels of health, safety and hygiene to meet legislative and quality requirements, ensuring relevant paperwork is completed and retained.
  • Deliver communication briefings so that all shifts are aware of Company and local issues and employees can offer input/improvements and feel involved.
  • Manage goods inwards to ensure receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods so stock is available to satisfy orders.
  • Develop all team members to maximise their contributions to the Warehouse, creating a structured succession plan.
  • Carry out disciplinary / grievance interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure.
  • Monitor and control sickness absence levels in line with Company policy and carry out return-to-work interviews efficiently.
  • Monitor and control time and attendance.
  • Manpower planning, ensuring appropriate levels of overtime and agency workers to efficiently and cost effectively run the shift.
  • Enforce and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control training for teams, ensuring the correct amount of health & safety representation on shift (e.g., First Aiders, Fire Marshalls).
  • Support Management in any ad-hoc duties within the Warehouse function.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment.
  • Good working knowledge within a Warehouse and Logistics operation.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
  • The ability to motivate and manage a large team.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Strong and effective communicator at all levels.
  • Proactive and able to make decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively across multi-functional departments.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
