Warehouse Operator - Afternoon Shift

Location: Goole
Pay rate: £14.40/hr (equivalent to £30,000/annum) + Shift Allowance
Type of role: contract (ongoing)

Our client is a prominent railway infrastructure company committed to excellence in the rail industry. We are currently seeking dedicated and detail‑oriented Warehouse Operators to join our team. In this crucial role, you will play a vital part in ensuring best‑in‑class service by efficiently managing material availability and assisting with various warehouse tasks, including picking, packing, storage, kitting and distribution of components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Warehouse Operations – pick stock accurately and efficiently using handheld or mobile devices to scan, ensuring accuracy in the warehouse management system.
  • Pick, Pack, Ship, Receive, Put‑Away and kitting of any planned components in line with the defined warehouse management policy.
  • Quality – follow packing procedures and guidelines to meet defined quality standards; use proper packing materials, methods and techniques to protect items during transit and storage.
  • Check and verify all picked stock and assembled loads prior to dispatch within nominated systems.
  • Inventory Control – assist with inventory control by keeping accurate records of packed items to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Housekeeping – keep areas clean, tidy and maintain standards at all times.
  • Health & Safety – work safely adhering to site Health & Safety regulations and Safe Systems of Work; support operational efficiency and general housekeeping and hygiene standards of the warehouse and site.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse experience – necessary.
  • Attention to detail; accurate stock management.
  • Good hand, eye and foot coordination for safe use of mechanical handling equipment.
  • Reliable, self‑motivated, strong team player with flexible approach to work.
  • Good communication skills to ensure seamless warehouse operation.
  • FLT counterbalance, VNA, pallet mover or reach experience – necessary.
