A leading fasteners company in Northern Ireland is looking for a Warehouse Operative to perform various warehouse tasks including stock monitoring, order preparation, and maintaining cleanliness. The role offers up to 25 hours of work per week and emphasizes teamwork and attention to detail. Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Able to count stock accurately and handle basic calculations.
  • Read and understand delivery notes and product labels.
  • Spot differences in size, thread type, and finish.
  • Keep stock areas tidy and grouped logically.
  • Safely lift and move boxes using trolleys or pallet trucks.
  • Use warehouse software or spreadsheets for stock updates.
  • Work with trade counter staff, drivers, and suppliers.
  • Prioritise tasks and meet dispatch deadlines.
  • Cooperate with colleagues in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Follow procedures for safe storage and handling.

THE EMPLOYER IS: ORCHARD FASTENERS LTDAs a Warehouse Operative you will perform a range of useful tasks around the warehouse such as stock counting, moving boxes and communicating with the other staff to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor levels of screws, bolts, nuts, nails, adhesives, and specialty fasteners, conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Label and categorize stock by size, material etc.
  • Track incoming and outgoing items, flag low-stock items with warehouse supervisor.
  • Safely transport pallets between delivery bays and storage zones using a forklift.
  • Organize fasteners in high racking systems.
  • Prepare and load customer orders.
  • Verify order accuracy against packing slips before dispatch.
  • Maintain delivery logs and liaise with drivers or couriers.
  • Keep aisles and shelving clean and free of loose fasteners or packaging debris.
  • Maintain safe storage of all items.
  • Inspect racking systems and storage bins for wear or damage.
  • Pick and pack orders with attention to detail-ensuring correct quantities, sizes, and types.
  • Use protective packaging for sharp or corrosive items.
  • Label boxes clearly for customers, including part numbers and batch codes.
