Overview

Great opportunity to work as a Warehouse Operative for our client's busy food logistics site. Staffline is recruiting Warehouse Operatives in Basingstoke.

Salary

• Afternoons £14.35 per hour
• Nights £14.85 per hour

Overtime is available and is paid at:

• Afternoons £21.78 per hour
• Nights £22.28 per hour

Hours and pattern

This is a full-time role working rotating shifts and the hours of work are:

• Ambient 12pm to 8pm
• Chill 2pm to 10pm
• Ambient Nights 9pm to 6am

Key responsibilities

As a Warehouse Operative your duties include:

• Locating and retrieving items from storage based on order slips or digital instructions.
• Using handheld scanners or pick lists to confirm item selection.
• Packing items securely for shipping.
• Labelling packages with correct shipping information and barcodes.
• Reporting low stock levels or discrepancies.
• Inspecting items for damage or defects before packing.
• Ensuring correct quantities and product types are picked.
• Operating pallet jacks, forklifts.
• Using warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and updates.
• Following safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
• Keeping work areas clean and organized.
• Communicating with supervisors and other warehouse staff.
• Helping to train new pickers or assist in other warehouse tasks as needed.
• Frequently lift items weighing 1-25 kg.
• Working in varying temperatures (e.g., chilled warehouses or warm loading docks).

Our perfect worker will be comfortable with lifting, bending, and repetitive tasks and be able to work on your feet for long hours. You will work well with others to meet targets and maintain workflow and communicates effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

Applicants will ensure correct items are picked, packed, and labelled and prioritises tasks to meet deadlines.
