Our client is a highly respected and well-established manufacturing business based in Portsmouth with a strong national presence. As part of an exciting period of operational development, they are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead their site's warehousing function.

Job Description

As the Warehouse Manager, you will take full leadership of all warehouse operations, ensuring the seamless flow of materials to support a high‑performing, fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for driving best‑in‑class standards across safety, service, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the warehouse team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee all inbound, outbound, and internal material movements to ensure production schedules are met
  • Manage inventory accuracy, stock control processes, and system integrity
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations, implementing Lean methodologies where appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety standards and company policies
  • Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Procurement to optimise operational performance
  • Lead change across people, processes, and systems to support ongoing business growth
The Successful Applicant

The ideal Warehouse Manager candidate will have:

  • Proven experience managing warehouse operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong leadership capability with experience developing teams and leading change
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • A hands‑on, proactive approach with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams
  • Experience with Lean / continuous improvement methodologies (desirable)
