The General Manager will take accountability for the overall safety, service and cost performance of the Wardle operation, serving as a role model for Boughey's values and instilling these principles across the site and our people. Reporting into the Warehouse Head of Operations, the General Manager will assume a leadership role across the Wardle site, overseeing, guiding and motivating teams.
Responsibilities
- Safety: Ensure the safety of all our people and adherence with all health and safety regulations.
- Team Development & Coaching: Foster a high-performing environment by coaching and developing teams to exceed expectations and develop a culture of excellence.
- Operational Excellence: Manage and direct teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective fulfilment of stakeholder promises.
- Leadership & Ownership: Take ownership of the Wardle operation, demonstrating confident and credible leadership with a growth-oriented mindset.
- Cost Focused: Take ownership of the Wardle Warehouse budget and implement plans to ensure all financial targets are surpassed.
- Performance & Standards: Implement and improve Quality standards, training, and customer service levels.
Qualifications
- Experience in a senior position within a fast-paced warehouse, FMCG or food manufacturing environment with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Proven experience in managing all aspects of warehouse logistics.
- Knowledge and experience of health and safety regulations, preferably with IOSH qualifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for driving business growth through effective leadership, coaching, and mentorship.
- A continuous improvement mindset is crucial, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
- Strong analytical, planning, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a strong focus on surpassing all budgetary metrics.
- Flexible and adaptable, willing to travel between sites when required.
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
