Warehouse Controller

Location: Cambridge, CB4 0WN
Salary: Competitive Salary, DOE + Excellent Benefits
Contract: Full time, Permanent

Huber+Suhner produce market-leading optical circuit switches for advanced fibre optic communications networks.

We are now recruiting for a Warehouse Controller to lead the Warehouse function for our Cambridge site! This will include receipt, storage and shipping, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer service!

Your role will have a specific focus on import and export master data and process improvement to ensure efficiency at all stages of the process.

In addition to this, as our Warehouse Controller you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as a lead for the UK warehouse and working as part of the stores team.
  • Tracking stock levels, perform cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, manage storage, and handle obsolete items.
  • Coordinating incoming deliveries (verifying against orders) and outgoing shipments (picking, packing, labelling).
  • Maintaining accurate records, prepare reports (stock, productivity), and handle shipping documents like B/Ls and packing lists.
  • Liaising with suppliers, carriers, customer service, and internal teams (purchasing, sales).
  • Utilising Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other software for tracking and reporting .
  • Importing / Exporting master data responsibility; ensuring new parts are classified correctly and cleansing current SAP classifications.
  • Customs compliance; working in partnership with teams in Poland to manage historic customs claims and making recommendations for how to improve the process and ensure ongoing compliance.

You will also be responsible for completing daily stores duties including:

  • Incoming receipt and inspection
  • Storage of parts in a safe manner
  • Kitting of works orders
  • Issuing of shortages to work orders
  • Dispatching items from MRP from sales order
  • Creating manual excel shipment paperwork when required
  • relevant emails on shipments
  • Receiving RMA and Demo machines
  • Stores kept in a tidy, safe and organised manner
  • MRP system updated with correct BIN locations
  • Ensure the stock accuracy within SAP is as high as possible
  • Organise courier collections when required

In order to be successful in this role you should have:

  • Previous experience in a stores / warehouse role, ideally leading the function.
