Overview

Ward Manager role within the Division of Medicine on Ward 26. We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our patient-focused team on a permanent basis. Ward 26 comprises 29 beds specialising in Diabetes and Endocrine Medicine. The successful candidate will confidently lead the team, share our passion for delivering the highest quality care, provide an excellent patient experience and be committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day management of the Ward, coordinating, allocating and prioritising the workload to ensure efficient use of staff and resources and support the smooth running of the ward.
  • Training, supervision and appraisal of the team.
  • Ensure safe staffing levels, produce a safe, fair and effective roster and manage sickness and absence in line with the trusts attendance management policy.
  • Maintain and monitor systems to ensure staff compliance with mandatory training.
  • Collaborate with all members of the wider team to ensure efficient ward operation and a safe patient journey.
  • Have oversight of the ward budget and monitor and control expenditure and use of resources.
  • Further line management responsibilities, including formal disciplinary, grievances and other meetings relevant to the management role.
