We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager who can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care.

You'll be working 37.5 hours a week at Cygnet Hospital Bierley.

Cygnet Hospital Bierley provides a range of acute and low secure mental health services for men and women

The hospital is set across four wards offering single-sex male and female specialist mental health services. All our services are provided under the umbrella of a recovery orientated approach and are reviewed through the CPA framework.

  • Provide suggestions, proposals & recommendations to the Hospital Manager aimed at the continued development of the ward
  • Contribute & participate in planned visits to the ward by professional visitors
  • Initiate & maintain a monitoring system in relation to professional nursing practice at unit level, including pin numbers & the current registration of all qualified staff
  • Ensure that the evaluation of service delivery is user (i.e. patient, carer & family) based
  • Advise non-clinical staff within the hospital on management of patients with mental illness
  • Ensure patients rights to confidentiality are respected & that Cygnet Health Care & professional policies are adhered to.

You are

  • Committed to delivering improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision
  • Familiar with an in-patient setting
  • Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others
  • Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
  • Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans
  • Well-informed of the Mental Health Act & the latest nursing practices
  • Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk.
