Overview

Due to expansion of services, an opportunity has arisen for a Ward Housekeeper to join our existing housekeeping team on Ward 35. The position includes evening and weekend working. We are looking for a motivated, organised and hardworking individual who can work well within a team, prioritise workload and, when required, assist and support the team during busy periods. They will work with the team to provide a clean welcoming environment for the babies and families, replenish and organise stock and supplies.

Hours: 20 hours/week

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Ward/Department to maintain an exceptionally clean, safe and comfortable environment for babies, their families and visitors.
  • Clean incubators and other essential equipment; collect and organise washing and drying of baby linen and clothes.
  • Restock supplies in clinical bays and stabilisation areas to ensure adequate equipment and resources are available to support the nursing and medical teams.
  • Provide a clean and organised beverage/waiting area for families and provide refreshments as required.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with the team; report progress and any concerns to the nurse in charge.
  • Be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to maintaining patient privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Report any issues that may prevent cleaning or compromise safety to the Nurse in Charge.
  • May undertake administrative and clinical duties as required and abide by Trust policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent communication skills; able to liaise closely with the team and families.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work well within a team; flexible to cover evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and families.
