A healthcare provider in Slough is seeking a highly organised Ward Clerk for a busy medical ward. As the first point of contact, you’ll manage communication and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of patient care. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, experience in clerical duties, and a high standard of IT literacy. 12 month fixed term contract - 23 hours per week
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Ward Clerk to join MADU , our busy 16 bedded high dependency respiratory and medical ward. As the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and visitors, you will provide essential administrative support that keeps the ward running smoothly.
In this pivotal role, you will:
Coordinate communication between healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
Manage day-to-day ward administration with accuracy and efficiency.
Help create a welcoming and supportive environment for all who visit the ward.

Carry out general clerical and administrative tasks, ensuring tidy and safe work areas.
Manage telephone enquiries, video call entry, and act as first point of contact for patients and visitors.
Maintain and update patient records and admission/discharge systems accurately.
Liaise with ward staff and other departments (e.g., consultants' secretaries, pharmacy, transport, porters) to support smooth operations.
Provide administrative support to nursing and medical staff, including making appointments and assisting with audits.
