Overview

Waking Night Support Worker (Young people)

Location: PRESTON/BLACKBURN

Contract: Permanent | Full-time Hours: 40 hours per week (22:00 - 08:00) on a 3 week rolling rota
Salary: £13.68

Responsibilities
  • Provide residential support for young people who may require a high level of support due to self-harm, behaviour and emotional difficulties. Use a therapeutic approach to help them achieve individual goals in preparation for transition to adult life.
  • Promote independence by supporting education, household tasks and general life skills; assist with everyday life skills.
  • Work with the residential and clinical team to provide ongoing support and mentoring.
  • Engage in one‑to‑one and small group work as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous care experience is essential; comprehensive induction and ongoing training provided.
  • Key skills: SEN experience (Autism, challenging behaviour, life skills, personal care); strong behaviour management; professional manner; enthusiasm and friendly approach; personal care.
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills; is a great team player with a flexible attitude.
  • Up-to-date DBS for Child and Adult.
