Job description

Are you a welcoming and engaging type of person?

Are you enthusiastic about supporting parents/carers in a fun environment?

The Stay & Play Volunteer role would be ideal for a reliable, friendly and adaptable person who is willing to help run the weekly sessions in South Gloucestershire.

These sessions benefit the local community and visiting parents/carers with their children, and our volunteers make all the difference.

We currently have the following groups running:

  • Kingswood runs every Thursday 12:45pm-1:15pm, term time only.
  • Yate runs Fridays 9:15am-10:45am, term time only on a fortnightly basis.
  • Parenting groups run flexibly across the week, mornings, afternoons and evenings.

You’ll be responsible for setting up the room, and ensuring it is left clear at the end of the session. You’ll engage with people at the sessions, and help to develop new ideas with the group for seasonal events and special occasions.

If you are interested in supporting families, and want to lead a group that makes a real difference, then click ‘apply’ now! Due to the location of the groups, prospective volunteers would need a full UK driving licence and their own transport.

CCP was originally founded in 1989 by a local businessman in response to the growing number of homeless young people in Cheltenham. Recognising that people as young as 16 were sleeping rough around town after having thrown out of their family home, he purchased a building and opened a 10-bed hostel.

We have grown a lot since then and now aim to transform the lives of children, young people, families, and vulnerable adults by preventing homelessness, strengthening families and promoting independence. With a head office in Cheltenham, we currently employ 220 staff, backed up by a team of 160 volunteers, delivering services and projects in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Wiltshire, and Dorset.

Together WE can make a difference
