Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving License is required.
  • Experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, or similar role.
  • MOT License is beneficial but not essential.

Job Introduction

Due to continuing growth, we are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers Volkswagen Commercial Coventry. You will be working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota basis. Our packages and new pay plans are industry-leading and reflect each applicant's experience and skillset. The basic salaries start from £32,000 up to £45,000. Bonus / OTEs range from £35,000 up to £48,000.

Role and Responsibilities

Our technicians are responsible for servicing, repair, and diagnostics of all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standard first time. Main responsibilities include electrical and mechanical repairs such as suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts, and air conditioning servicing. Additional responsibilities may include repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles, focusing on batteries, drive motors, auxiliary drive packs, and control systems. You will have the ability to fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.

You will have a full understanding of Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business. Training will be provided to operate additional systems, such as video reporting (e.g., CitNOW). You will also complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards, working closely with the workshop team to share knowledge and learn continuously.

About You

We consider candidates from all backgrounds with experience in the automotive sector as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester, or Apprentice Vehicle Technician. Whether you work at an independent garage, fast fit centre, car supermarket, or main dealer, we are interested in speaking with you.

Minimum requirements include holding or working towards NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. An MOT License is beneficial but not essential. A full UK Driving License is required. Demonstrated good mechanical and electrical knowledge and a commitment to high standards are essential.
