Role Overview

We’re looking for a Videographer & Editor to join our growing Content team. This is a hands-on, highly creative role responsible for filming deeply emotional and structured conversations and turning them into compelling, high-quality content for the JAAQ platform.

The role is an even split between studio filming and post-production editing, requiring both technical expertise and emotional sensitivity. You’ll play a vital part in capturing conversations that matter—helping millions access the mental health support they need.

Key Responsibilities

1. Filming Structured Conversations

• Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment in a studio environment.
• Capture intimate and vulnerable conversations with care and precision.
• Support shoots by taking notes and highlighting key moments for editing.

2. Editing & Post-Production

• Edit footage to meet JAAQ’s creative and technical standards.
• Perform audio clean-up and mixing for clear, professional sound.
• Execute colour grading to ensure brand consistency and professional finish.

3. Media & Data Management

• Organise and label rushes according to structured naming conventions.
• Manage secure backups via NAS RAID and Dropbox.
• Oversee archiving processes to maintain data integrity.

4. Collaboration & Creative Input

• Work closely with producers, directors, and the wider content team.
• Follow editorial guidelines to ensure consistency across all content.
• Contribute to storytelling approaches that enhance audience engagement.

5. Behind-the-Scenes Content Creation

• Capture behind-the-scenes footage and photography where required.
• Assist with external shoots (driver’s license a plus).
• Deliver additional creative assets to support brand storytelling.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Experience: 3+ years as a videographer/editor, with a strong portfolio of professional work.

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, audio editing, colour grading, and DIT workflows.

• Organisational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage, label, and archive media efficiently.

• Filming Knowledge: Solid understanding of studio setups, lighting, and sound recording.

• Storytelling Ability: Strong editorial judgement to shape emotionally resonant narratives.

• Professional Sensitivity: Ability to handle confidential and emotionally impactful subject matter with care.

• Adaptability: Comfortable working under tight deadlines while maintaining creative quality.
