Overview

Ryecroft Academy is excited to announce an opportunity for a Vice Principal. The role will commence on January 2026, and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to enhance our Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the ongoing success of the academy. Additionally, we are seeking a versatile and impactful leader who can contribute significantly to system and across trust improvement.

As Vice Principal, you will play a key role in supporting the strategic direction of the Academy, working closely with the Principal, staff, pupils, governors, trust leaders and parents/carers to maintain a culture of high achievement and continuous improvement. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate leader committed to shaping the future of education at Ryecroft Academy and in other settings.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Principal and senior leadership team to develop and implement the Academy’s strategic vision and improvement plan
  • Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil wellbeing across the Academy
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and excellence
  • Develop strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders to support the academy’s objectives
  • Provide highly effective line management to ensure staff are empowered to provide the best possible education and care for our children
  • Enable impactful and sustainable system improvement
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, in a senior role
  • Strong track record of driving improvements in pupil outcomes and fostering a positive school culture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and substantial experience in leadership roles
  • In depth knowledge of enabling excellent provision and support for pupils with SEND and pupils who are new to English and/or have English as an additional language
Desirable Skills
  • Experience as Vice Principal or in a similar senior leadership role
  • A commitment to inclusive education and supporting students from disadvantaged and diverse backgrounds

Although the teaching commitment of this role will alter at different points of the academic year, the successful applicant is likely to be required to have a regular teaching commitment.
