Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Full Time Hoddesdon Hertfordshire

A friendly small animal veterinary practice is seeking a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a supportive and experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Nurse looking for a stable, weekday-focused role with no out-of-hours duties.

Hours & Salary
  • 35.9 hours per week (full time)

  • 1:4 Saturday mornings

  • Salary: £34,000 (40-hour equivalent)

  • Annual pay review every October

Job Overview

The role is full time, working Monday to Friday, with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. There are no out-of-hours or emergency shifts, offering a strong work–life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting veterinary surgeons during consultations, diagnostics, and surgery

  • Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting surgical procedures

  • Running nurse clinics

  • Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments

  • Providing inpatient, pre-operative, and post-operative care

  • Collecting samples and assisting with basic laboratory work

  • Maintaining accurate clinical records

  • Supporting reception duties and answering telephone enquiries when required

  • Communicating treatment plans and aftercare advice to clients

  • Educating owners on preventative healthcare and nutrition
