Qualifications

  • Mandatory Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence is required.

Job description
Vehicle Technician

Location: Northampton

Salary: £28,700 - £34,500 basic; bonus is uncapped, averaging around £5,000 with some techs earning over £10,000.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours (flexibility available), no weekend work.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join a client’s workshop based in Northampton. The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles within a nationwide company that offers excellent progression and benefits.

Vehicle Technician Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used
  • Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area
  • Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques
Vehicle Technician Requirements
  • Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance (preferred but not essential)
  • Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance (mandatory for consideration)
  • Full UK driving licence
