Overview

Vehicle Technician (classic cars)
Location: Kenilworth
Salary: up to £35,000 basic per annum DOE, plus overtime OTE 40k
Hours: full time Monday to Friday 8.30-5

My client is recruiting for this exciting and different position, looking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their team in the Kenilworth area. The ideal candidate will probably be a skilled automotive engineer with considerable practical experience and a particular interest in classic and vintage vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out vehicle servicing and general maintenance
• Performing diagnostics and fault finding
• Brakes, suspension, clutch repairs and replacements
• Cambelt replacements

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a workshop environment
• A first class knowledge of traditional petrol engines, in particular carburettor fuel systems and distributor type ignition systems
• A first class knowledge of fault finding on traditional vehicles
• A good knowledge of engine building
• A general knowledge of traditional electrical, transmission, braking and suspension systems
• An ability to solve technical problems with good engineering practice
• An ability to work effectively within a team of four skilled technicians
• Self-motivated to minimise idle time and keep jobs within estimate
• A commitment to the highest quality and putting customer satisfaction above all else
• Strong mechanical skills
• A steady and reliable work history
• Minimum Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• You must also own a well-stocked toolbox
