Role Overview
GlobalData’s Automotive team is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Analyst. The role contributes to the development of commercial vehicle market reports, works closely with industry analysts, and initially focuses on the Bus sector.
Compensation & Location
Fully remote (UK-based). Salary £70,000‑£90,000 + commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Market and Industry Research – gain awareness and understanding of regulatory, technological, and economic environments; conduct research into market and industry developments using industry sources; identify, understand, and summarize market trends and industry‑specific issues.
- Data Gathering and Processing – perform regular data gathering, error checking, processing, and analysis; maintain the integrity and consistency of the commercial vehicle database and analytical processes; prepare quarterly and monthly data downloads and deliverables; help optimize methodology and processes.
- Forecast Development – receive training in GlobalData’s automotive forecasting methodologies; take responsibility for top‑line and market‑share forecasting focused on the Bus sector; collaborate with industry experts and thought leaders to gather insights and validate forecasts.
- Written Analysis – contribute to syndicated and specific written reports and blogs, adhere to established deadlines; provide customer‑facing webinars and presentations.
- Customer‑Facing Support – respond to internal and external requests for data manipulation and participation in web meetings, supporting sales and research panels.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and spoken English with strong communication skills.
- Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in summarizing research findings with clarity and attention to detail.
- Proactive problem‑solving approach and passion for staying up to date with industry trends.
- Advanced proficiency in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, ideally with experience in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to industry events for research purposes.
- Experience in market analysis, forecasting, or economic research, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in a numerate discipline (economics preferred, but not essential).
- Minimum two years of relevant professional experience; proven ability to work independently, manage schedules, and meet deadlines.
