Overview
Vehicle Damage Assessor in Preston. Permanent position working in a large accident repair centre. Salary £45,000 - £47,000. 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, no weekends. 33 days annual leave, private healthcare plan, progression available, expanding company.
Responsibilities
- Inspect damaged vehicles and assess the full extent of the damage sustained, assess the cost of repair and time scales
- Identify the correct prescribed repair method
- Prepare computerised and manual estimates and accurately record these, maintaining up-to-date records of all estimates
- Obtain from insurers the authority to proceed with repair and confirm the cost of the repair
- Communicate effectively with customers, engineers and technicians to ensure understanding of correct vehicle repair methodology
- Ensure that any amendment to repair work is authorised by the insurance company
- Once authorisation is gained, liaise with body shop personnel to ensure they understand the prescribed repair method

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a busy accident repair centre (advantage)
- ATA qualification or NVQ Level 3
- Advanced user of Audatex and thorough understanding of insurance repairs
- VDA / Vehicle Damage Assessor experience
- Experience in a body shop or accident repair environment
