Position: Vehicle Fitter / MIG welder

Location

Sheffield (Ideal for candidates based in Sheffield, Chesterfield or Rotherham)

Type

Temporary (with potential to become permanent after 12 weeks)

We are working leading provider of commercial vehicle solutions, who are seeking a skilled Vehicle Fitter / MIG welder to join their dynamic team. This role will be based on-site, with the opportunity for a permanent position after 12 weeks.

The ideal candidate will have :

• Experience with MIG welding, and proficiency in using all related welding equipment.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• A UK Driver's License is required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble bespoke bodywork including tippers, plant vehicles
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide your work.
• Perform MIG welding and assemble vehicle body components.
• Utilize a variety of welding tools, hand tools, and power tools to complete tasks.
• Contribute to sub-assembly work, as well as refurbishments and new vehicle builds.

Benefits

• Hourly Rate : £13.50 to £16.00 per hour (DOE)
• Working Hours : Monday to Thursday, 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 00 PM (3 : 00 PM finish on Fridays)
• Overtime : Time and a half after 39 hours, Saturday morning overtime available
• Paid breaks
• 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays

Requirements

• MIG welding experience is a must.
• Prior experience in vehicle body building is prefferable
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow instructions accurately.
• A strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Own transport is ideal.
