A public sector organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to build and modernize business-critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Linux systems engineering, particularly with RHEL, and familiarity with deployment tools such as Ansible and virtualization technologies like VMware. We need you to help us build new services to handle the rapidly growing volume and complexity of digital records now being sent in to the archive. You are an enthusiastic and organised individual who is keen to join a growing team and make a positive contribution. You have the expertise and confidence to put forward ideas, advise colleagues and work collaboratively with external specialists and suppliers. You are delivery focused and strongly motivated to provide an excellent service. You are passionate about technology and committed to growing your skills. Your creativity and experience help you shape the design and development of new services. You are motivated to find solutions to complex problems and will frequently look for opportunities to do things better. In this role, your work will help ensure that today's digital public records are available to future generations of citizens, researchers, policy makers and historians.
Due to the need to work with physical infrastructure, this role is primarily based at our Kew site though some remote working will be possible. SC-level Security Clearance or willingness to obtain SC clearance is mandatory for this role and requires that you have lived in the UK for the last 3 years. The length of required residency may depend on individual circumstances.
