Vacancy for Digital Preservation Manager at Imperial War Museum

Full-Time

The purpose of the job is to plan and manage programmes to preserve IWM’s collection material at all of IWM’s five branches or at local venues.

You will be the primary source of expertise regarding the management and care of the museum’s digital archive collections, analogue archive materials and time-based media.

Together with the Head of Preservation and relevant peers, you shall develop and implement an overarching digital preservation strategy for accessioning, access, long-term preservation, and disposal of digital collections.

This shall involve commissioning collection reviews, overseeing external contracts and supervising internal specialists. You shall share your expertise with stakeholders and deliver preservation training to others. The post will also be responsible for key digital preservation programmes in support of IWM’s projects.

The post is based at IWM Duxford but will occasionally be required to work at all branches as required.
