Job description

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the UK's energy market. The company have a portfolio of assets in BESS, Solar and EV Charging and we're looking for someone who already has experience in utility scale solar or BESS sector.

This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician comes with a salary just shy of £42,000 and with an extensive benefits list too.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Ensure the best performance of large-scale solar and BESS assets
  • Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar sites in Hull (with some visits up to near York as well)
  • Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties
  • Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues
  • Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets
  • Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems
  • Looking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result
  • Occasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV
Professional qualifications
  • Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum
  • 18th edition wiring regs
  • Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent
  • A HSE qualification is desired
  • Experience within solar and/or BESS is essential
  • UK driving licence is essential
Personal skills
  • Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting
  • Experience reading, writing and assessing RAMS is hugely beneficial
  • Someone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference
