Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in England is looking for an experienced Upholsterer to prepare and upholster furniture, ensuring high-quality standards. The role requires at least three years of upholstery skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to work effectively with hand tools. Job description

Duties and responsibilities

• Prepare fabric and components for use in upholstery and/or soft furnishings.
• Prepare to upholster items of furniture involving preparation of the frame for upholstery, application of suspensions and filling materials.
• Competently fix upholstery to standard items of modern furniture and traditional furniture using a handheld staple gun, screw gun and other hand tools.
• Maintain a high level of quality and meet production efficiency of at least 90%, in accordance with Company's standards.
• Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery.

Skills

• High degree of upholstery skills with a minimum of 3 years' experience is desirable.
• The ability to produce a good quality product with excellent attention to detail.
• Practical skills, manual dexterity, especially hand skills and coordination.
• A positive mind‑set with a 'can do' attitude.
• The aptitude to assimilate techniques.
• Manual handling, as some lifting is required.
• Ability to use own initiative and work quickly to meet production deadlines.
• Measuring and cutting skills would also be beneficial.
