Qualifications

  • Experience in childcare or early years work with children.
  • Experience as a youth or support worker aiding social/emotional needs.
  • Experience as a care worker providing support for individuals with additional needs.
  • Experience as a tutor or coach in skill development.
  • Experience in customer service or admin roles focused on communication and teamwork.
  • Volunteer work with children or vulnerable adults with mentoring/safeguarding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work with teachers to deliver targeted interventions and support plans.
  • Provide one-to-one support to build skills and independence.
  • Use strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behavior.
  • Build trusting relationships to encourage engagement and well-being.
  • Adapt resources to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor progress and share information with staff.
  • Support students during transitions and unstructured times.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive environment following safeguarding procedures.
Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support high-quality learning across an inclusive Multi-Academy Trust committed to transforming lives and strengthening communities around Bristol.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with teachers and the SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and support plans.
  • Provide one-to-one or small-group support to build skills, confidence and independence.
  • Use positive behaviour and de-escalation strategies to support emotional regulation.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and wellbeing.
  • Adapt resources and tasks to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor and record progress, sharing relevant information with staff.
  • Support students during transitions, breaks and other unstructured times.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and promote a safe, inclusive environment.
Desired past experiences are:
  • Childcare or Early Years Worker – experience with children and classroom routines.
  • Youth or Support Worker – working with young people and supporting social/emotional needs.
  • Care Worker / Health Support – patience, empathy, and supporting individuals with additional needs.
  • Tutor or Coach – helping others learn and develop skills.
  • Customer Service / Admin – communication, organisation, and teamwork.
  • Volunteer Work with Children or Vulnerable Adults – mentoring, safeguarding, and support experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
