Job description

We wish to recruit a University Teacher in Ecology and Marine Biology to provide teaching cover for 6 months at 1 FTE. The post would support lecture, computer and field-based teaching in Ecology and Marine Biology. Specifically, the post would be required to deliver existing material including Animal Behaviour and Geographic Information Systems (GIS, specifically using QGIS or R) within modules in years 1-3 in undergraduate degree programmes.

In addition to teaching on campus, you should be willing and able to spend up five days (four nights) away from Liverpool contributing to a residential field class. Applicants should demonstrate relevant experience in higher education teaching. Applicants with experience in teaching ecology, marine biology, animal behaviour, GIS, R or similar are particularly encouraged to apply.

You should be PhD awarded or under examination in a relevant discipline.

This post is fixed term (6 months from 1 January 2026).
