Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in CNC Grinding.
• Apprentice trained or qualified by experience.
• Skilled in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC grinding machines to produce precision components.
• Work with Fanuc or Siemens-based control systems.
• Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.

Job description

Role: Universal Grinder (4 Day Week)
Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire
Salary: £16.00–£17 Per Hour + + a £500-£600 shift uplift per month + Overtime available
OTE: £45,000–£52,000
Hours: Monday – Thursday (4-day week)Week 1-2: 06:00 – 15:45, Week 2-4: 15:45 – 01:00 (2 week rotations)
(37 hour week)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Duties

• Set and operate CNC grinding machines to produce precision components
• Work with Fanuc or Siemens-based control systems
• Interpret technical drawings and grinding specifications
• Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools
• Conduct routine TPM checks and basic machine maintenance
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation (5S)
• Ensure traceability and quality compliance throughout production
• Collaborate with team members and report to supervision

The Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in CNC Grinding
• Apprentice trained or qualified by experience
• Strong understanding of Fanuc/Siemens controls
• Skilled in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring equipment
• Experience working with exotic materials (e.g., Inconel, Titanium, Hardened Steel)
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
